Quality Control Manager

We currently have an immediate opening for a Quality Control Manager in our Dayton, Ohio facility. The Quality Control Manager is responsible for the total quality related performance for our PepsiAmericas Dayton, Ohio manufacturing facility. The scope of this position covers all aspects of quality within the plant, from the sourcing of materials and services from suppliers, to the production, bottling/canning, packaging and delivery of finished products that meet customer service and quality requirements. This would be successfully accomplished through coaching and leading the team within the quality department. The successful candidate must be able to balance the requirement of flawless quality performance and the demands of a high paced production environment.  Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
People Management

? Direct and manage a team to produce flawless quality within this plant.
  Motivates, leads and directs staff to ensure continued development and professionalism. ? Sets objectives, monitors progress and prepares annual performance appraisals for direct reports.? Ensure completion of all safety training (e.g. HazCom, BBP, etc.)? Should be familiar with labor agreements, interpretation and application Functional ExcellenceEnsures that quality KPI’s are at-or-above PAS standard. Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality standards and assures compliance with policies and procedures. Must have working knowledge of QA testing procedures and processes.

Qualified candidate must possess the following:Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred in Chemistry, Food science or related field. MBA is a plus. 5+ years quality control experience in the beverage industry and/or similar experience in a high-speed processing organization. Strong interpersonal and communication skills required to effectively disseminate and present information to all internal and external customers. Demonstrated success building and fostering teams, gain commitment from others and effectively manage the decision making process. Must have excellent creative problem solving skills and innovative approaches to complex problems in a timely fashion. Ability to perform financial analysis and understand P&L construction. Must be able to work long hours including weekends and holidays, as necessary When on the production floor for training, monitoring or problem solving, must be able to work on your feet for up to 8 hours a day in a loud work environment with little climate control Must have above-average analytical skills in order to understand and train to complex quality and process control work processes
