Major Responsibilities:
Must be knowledgeable about and able to service, repair and/or replace damaged sections on various types of sheet metal dies, such as hand fed, progressive pierce cutoff and form dies.
Required to design and build simple tools and fixtures without drawings if necessary to complete projects. Familiar with machining properties, such as hardness and heat tolerance, of a wide variety of common metals and alloys.
Must be able to work from blueprints or instructions to manufacture tools or dies.
General knowledge of different machines such as lathes, milling machines, surface grinders, punch press and other related machine shop machines.
Responsible for all tool maintenance, tool modifications, design and the manufacture of equipment required to tooling for the site.
Education/Experience/Required Knowledge:
High school diploma or GED required
Minimum of 3 or more years manufacturing experience in a tool room environment
