Responsibilities
The Vice President Transactional Practice Areas product champion role provides the strategic and tactical direction of Transactional Practice Areas. This position defines the strategy goals and objectives and facilitates action in the accomplishment of those goals. This position ensures the maximum revenue and profitability growth for the USLM market.

Qualifications
1. Undergraduate degree required; MBA preferred or equivalent combination of educational achievement and experience.
2. Requires a minimum of 10 - 12 years related technical and professional experience.
3. Skills required include business acumen, strategic planning, organizational assessment, creativity, highly developed leadership and interpersonal skills, quantitative analytical abilities and outstanding communication skills.
4. The ability to lead and manage in a matrix organization.
5. Sound knowledge base of information industry and technology.
Accountabilities
1. Leads development of short/long-term strategies for transactional-related content/products. Leads editorial teams & other functional groups through strategy development/planning process.
2. Ensures content/products support Total Solutions & achieves quality levels.
3. Manages revenue/profit for transactional-related Matthew Bender product lines & usage/net revenue through online system. Leads financial planning/forecasting process.
4. Leads implementation of product strategy; directs broad organizational initiatives to achieve objectives.
5. Initiates/leads cost improvement efforts.
6. Establishes metrics for evaluating success/failure of initiatives.
7. Works closely with Mkt Plng/Sales to formulate strategy, obtain customer feedback, & assess market impact.
8. Works with Mkt Plng to obtain new content, evaluate pricing, & prepare product development plans.
9. Leads product marketing to meet objectives & market research initiatives to obtain feedback from customers on potential/past product releases.
10. Evaluates alternative business models for opportunities.
11. Invigorates innovation in Matthew Bender business.
12. Works closely with other business units to coordinate efforts.
13. Participates in evaluation of new content/services opportunities.

The preferred level of education for this position is Bachelor's Level Degree.
The preferred years of experience for this position is 10 years.
