VP of Fund Development and Community Relations
The Vice President of Development and Community Relations for Goodwill Industries of Southern California (GSC) will be responsible for the management, planning, direction and implementation of all aspects of a sound financial development program which involves the solicitation, receipt, recording, reporting and acknowledgement of all contribution and grant income to GSC; expanding the public's awareness of GSC programs; for maintaining broad, favorable and accurate recognition and support of GSC?s services and for directing GSC?s volunteer services. Handle media relations. Supervise 8 staff members. Reports directly to President/CEO.
A bachelor?s degree or equivalent academic/business experience in the areas of fund development and community relations. Minimum five years experience in developing contribution and grant support for nonprofit organizations. Prefer " Raiser's Edge" software experience. A working knowledge of planned giving. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Proven ability to work professionally with business executives, philanthropists and community leaders. Self-initiative, personal tact and creative talent required to motivate volunteers and donors alike.
