VP of Reimbursement

Excellent opportunity to join the executive team for a fast paced dynamic organization! This candidate MUST HAVE a good understanding of Medical Healthcare, 3rd party Billing. We are looking for someone with a strong A/R and business background.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Vice President of Reimbursement directs reimbursement activities to ensure that all policies and processes are sufficient to ensure the optimal collection of accounts. Determines performance standards for the department and ensures all collection activities result in the efficient collection of revenue.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBLITIES:
(Other duties may be assigned).
? Coordinates the reimbursement activities to include identification of policy issues, review of third party reimbursement changes, and compliance review.
? Reviews A/R and develops mitigation strategies to ensure payment and recovery of defaults.
? Report trends and global concerns to senior management as necessary to institute corrective actions and mitigate future occurrences.
? Analyzes receivables, collections, and provision levels to provide detailed analysis of accounts receivables, days sales outstanding, and collection trends of payors and products.
? Works with payers to support the carrier collection process established to pursue collections in mass as opposed to a patient by patient basis.
? Establishes standards and goals for A/R collections and ensures adherence to goals.
? Identifies collection problems and develops plans to improve activity, DSO and profitability.
? Interacts with other department heads to ensure positive exchange of information.
? Ensures all collection activities meet corporate goals and strategic financial objectives.
? Provides support to staff that promotes positive and productive department atmosphere.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintaining and developing an effective staff is critical as is supervising, coaching and mentoring all direct reports. Direct reports include Directors and Managers of reimbursement areas.



Required Skills:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: This candidate MUST HAVE a good understanding of Medical Healthcare, 3rd party Billing. We are looking for someone with a strong A/R and business background. 10 years of management experience in collections, appeals processing, clinical services, data processing, and software operations in the health care industry is required to meet the standards of this position. The incumbent must have an advanced knowledge of healthcare billing principals, processing methodologies basic medical terminology and automated billing systems. Superior understanding of healthcare plan documents and relationships of patient to plans (contracts). The ability to manage time, high case volume, develop work plans, set performance standards, organize, develop and motivate staff. Knowledge of company?s product line(s), general coverage, clinical criteria, general payer standards, regulatory and compliance standards and corporate ethical standards is a plus. Excellent interpersonal; skills are required to effectively interact with carriers, regulatory agencies, management and department staff.
