Vice President - Finance

 THE POSITION



 

The Vice President, Finance reports directly to one of the Co-Presidents and is a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for the finance and accounting operations of the company.  The Head of Finance will oversee an organization of approximately 20 professionals who manage the day-to-day accounting, financial systems, accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, currency exchange and risk management, and strategic financial initiatives of the business.  This entails working closely with department heads and the owners to assess financial issues in operations, information technology, marketing, HR, and in any new growth initiatives.  The owners frequently explore opportunities to acquire other businesses and the Head of Finance plays an important role in analyzing, conducting due diligence, and assessing these opportunities along with the owners.



 

The company seeks a new VP, Finance to help take the company forward in terms of building greater flexibility, adding bench strength, and assuming more responsibility for supporting the business.  Management wants to hire a strong people manager who can build an efficient organization to support the business activities, hire new talent when necessary, and work closely with the team to strengthen their capabilities and motivate them for higher levels of performance.

 

The company exists in a dynamic environment but has been quite successful and is constantly looking at new initiatives and product offerings, acquisition opportunities, and structural (i.e. systems-related) initiatives to position it for an even more successful, growth-oriented future.  The Head of Finance can expect to play a critical role in working with the owners to assess growth opportunities through rigorous analysis and planning, performing due diligence, and negotiating transactions from time to time.  Over time, the Head of Finance can expect to have a huge impact on all aspects of the business.
