The Domestic Air Product Manger is responsible for developing and managing the united.com domestic air business plan and product strategies and driving integration and consistency with other related products including international, corporate, and leisure. This will include working closely with stakeholders in revenue management, sales, marketing, product development and other areas as necessary to set and achieve revenue, penetration and product development goals.
Specific activities include strategic planning, business plan/model development and management, market research, business development, high level business analysis, competitive assessments, high level marketing and product plan development and management, developing integrated plans with international, corporate, and leisure products, tracking/reporting of performance, and other related activities as assigned by management.
The successful candidate will be expected to understand broad principles of airline and ecommerce management disciplines, including sales, alliances, revenue management, revenue accounting, product development, marketing, and IT/technology development. Prior experience in one or more of these areas is strongly preferred. The successful candidate should also perform well in a challenging and fast-paced environment and possess excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
BA/BS required. MBA preferred
3+ years business experience in airline/travel and/or ecommerce management disciplines
Experience in airline/travel revenue management and/or sales strategy and distribution disciplines desired
Direct experience in B2C eCommerce/website product management preferred
Demonstrated experience in developing revenue-focused business plans and driving tactical initiatives in achieving plans
Experience with airline booking and ticketing systems desired (GDS – Global Distribution Systems: Galileo, Amadeus, Worldspan, Apollo, Sabre, ITA, ATSE, etc.)
Experience with mechanics and strategies for promotions and other airline fare discounting mechanisms desired
Excellent planning, strategic, marketing, analytical and project management skills
Strong business analysis skills with experience in developing business cases for new technology projects/products
Demonstrated ability to collaborate in a positive manner with people in various groups and levels within the organization
Ability to foster and work effectively in a team environment
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Self-motivated, able to proactively work toward a goal independently
Demonstrated ability to produce results in ambiguous and time-constrained situations
Must be able to adapt to and work successfully in a fast-paced, changing environment
