2nd Vice President Director, Capital & Liquidity Management (JP-961)

TRANSAMERICA REINSURANCE, a leading life and annuity reinsurer, is looking for a 2nd Vice President Director, Capital & Liquidity Management (JP-961) to join our office in Charlotte, NC.  Transamerica Reinsurance is a leading provider of reinsurance and consulting services for companies which underwrite life, annuity and accident & health business.  It maintains reinsurance treaties in the United States, Latin America and Asia-Pacific.

Major Responsibilities
* Research and evaluate new and innovative collateral financing programs in collaboration with AEGON USA and AEGON NV risk and financial management
* Provide support to the development and implementation of effective capital and liquidity management programs for the reinsurance business overall
* Manage and monitor compliance with security program covenants
* Develop and participate in the delivery of presentations to management, rating agencies and other external parties
* Monitor and project the reserve credit security needs of the Division and the mix of reserve credit security vehicles to ensure timely funding of security requirements
* Lead and/or participate on project teams comprised of associates and business partners from various disciplines from within AEGON and external to AEGON in support of establishing new and innovative collateral financing programs
* Ensure that reinsurance division plans and objectives are consistent with and supportive of AEGON USA capital and liquidity management objectives
* Collaborate with Division product groups in the development of innovative client programs designed to leverage the benefits from alternative reserve credit security vehicles
* Other duties as required for the position.

 

Minimum Requirements
* 5+ years of financial markets experience at a responsible level  or the equivalent
* Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking skills
* Strong communication, interpersonal, project management and organizational skills
* Demonstrated success working in cross-functional collaborative teams
* Basic knowledge of life insurance and reinsurance products
* Available to work extended hours and travel (domestic and international) as needed.

 

Desired Characteristics / Skills
* 10+ years financial markets experience or the equivalent
* MBA-Finance, CFA or other similar advanced credentials
* Demonstrated experience in structured finance or similar transactions
* Useful contacts with financing providers and intermediaries specializing in development of financing and securitization programs
