Accounting & Reporting Analyst III

PetSmart headquarters (Store Support Group) in Phoenix, Arizona currently has an opening for an Accounting & Reporting Analyst III.



 

This position will be responsible for stock based accounting including the assessment of the binomial valuation and related assumptions used in calculations such as dividend yield, volatility, and forfeiture rate. Creates journal entries, reconciles related accounts and prepares financial statements and footnotes for the company?s form 10-Qs and
10-Ks.

Reviews and assesses new and pending authoritative accounting to include review of applicable documents, performing research, and working with business to determine potential impact. Reviews conclusions with the company?s independent accountants to determine whether new accounting policies, procedures and disclosure for forms 10-Qs and 10-Ks is required.

Coordinates with finance and business to ensure all applicable issues are addressed and disclosed and assists in the preparation of SEC filings.

Will be responsible for monthly foreign currency translation and variance analysis working through translation issues with Treasury, Tax, Accounts Payable and other members finance as needed.

Updates the earning per share calculation for use by the executive and investors as required. Coordinates with Treasury in the preparation of the forecast of future share amounts.

Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting with a minimum of 4 to 6 years strong technical accounting knowledge that will include stock-based accounting, authoritative accounting, SEC filings, foreign currently translation, and earnings per share calculation and preparation of 10-Qs and 10-Ks. Requires knowledge of SFAS 123R and SFAS 52.
