In this position, you will assist in the preparation of actuarial studies, projects and reports to enhance the growth and profitability of group insurance products.

Primary responsibilities for the Actuarial Assistant include:
- - Design, implement/convert, and maintain computer programs and procedures for calculation of rates and analysis of reserves.
- Assist in actuarial studies and projects involving the group product lines.
- Assist in the preparation of periodic financial reports for financial statements and government.
- Prepare for and pass actuarial examinations and increase professional competence.

To succeed in this exciting role you will need:
- Degree in math related field, or the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience.
- Professional certification required: 1 to 3 Actuarial Exams from the Society of Actuaries.
- Analyze, interpret and present numerical data related to pricing and reserving of group insurance products.
- Apply knowledge of data to financial reports.
- Program using SAS, PC, and mainframe.
- Design and development of spreadsheet applications.
- Express ideas and results clearly in both oral and written form.
- Working knowledge of mathematical statistics and actuarial mathematics.
- Standard Insurance requires a criminal background investigation, drug test, plus employment and education verification as a condition of employment. All employees of Standard Insurance must be bondable.
