Position Summary:

The senior analyst role will be responsible for monthly variance analysis and reporting including: generating loan sales & repurchases statistics, reporting on the monthly gain on sale, balance sheet and servicing portfolio delinquency, and warehouse line reporting, preparing securitization prospectus financial tables, state reporting financial and production performance support, and financial statement disclosures, booking valuation of mortgage servicing rights, preparing the loan loss and repurchase reserve estimates, and performing income statement reasonableness tests.  This position will also identify process improvement opportunities and participate in Sarbanes Oxley internal control testing and compliance.  Perform all duties in accordance with the company policies and procedures and all state and federal regulations.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

-  Prepare financial reports and analysis monthly, quarterly, annually, or as needed

-  Complete various projects and analysis as needed

-  Have a thorough understanding of GAAP for areas of responsibility

-  Make recommendations and participate in implementation of ad hoc projects to increase system and process efficiencies, including report automation.

-  Field reporting requests from various departments at will

-  Participate in regular maintenance of department policies and procedures

-  Assist with Sarbanes Oxley internal control testing and compliance

-  Assist internal and external auditors with reviews

 

 

Essential Knowledge, Skills, & Licenses:

-  Must have a solid knowledge of GAAP as well as good analytical skills

-  Ability to multitask with minimal supervision and ability to meet timelines

-  Ability to work in a very dynamic and rapidly changing environment

-  Ability to anticipate audit requirements and generate audit-friendly work product

-  Excellent verbal and written communication skills

-  Ability to interact with people from all levels of the company

-  Strong PC skills including Excel, Access, and Word, including data manipulation and summarization

-  Time management & organizational skills

-  Must have a strong work ethic and willingness to accept increasing responsibility

 

Education and/or Experience:

-  Bachelor?s degree

-  CPA or MBA preferred

-  Minimum of 5 years relevant accounting industry experience required

-  Prior public accounting experience highly desirable

-  Experience in valuation of mortgage servicing rights preferred

-  Working knowledge of PeopleSoft accounting software and MSP/Fidelity servicing system preferred

-  Previous mortgage banking or financial services experience preferred

-  Experience working for a large company (>$1 billion in revenue) required
