Analyst 2 - Finance

Under minimum supervision, researches and provides financial and/or business related analyses to assess the impact of various projects, systems and transactions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
? Conduct analyses and research in such areas as financial and expense performance, rate of return, depreciation, working capital, and investment.
? Prepare forecasts and analyze trends in manufacturing, sales, finance, general business conditions, and other related areas.
? For assigned projects; prepare detail of work plan and schedule, complete detailed analysis and research, identify options, prepare reports for management, and recommend action or change.
? Provide assistance to departments in the formulation of their budgets. Review departmental actual expenses versus budget. Issue monthly variance statements.
? Assist in the development of department procedures and performance measures.
? Conduct special financial and business related studies as requested.
? Must maintain satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
? May develop, coach and mentor subordinate staff.
? May conduct performance evaluations; recommend salary adjustments; reward employees or take disciplinary action, as necessary; address complaints and resolve issues.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
? Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Accounting or Finance from four-year college or university, plus 5 to 8 years experience, MBA/Master's degree preferred; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
SKILLS
? Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
? Computer skill requirements include: Basic MS Word and MS PowerPoint; intermediate MS Excel and database.
? Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
? Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
? Ability to complete assignments that are broad in nature, usually requiring originality and ingenuity.
? Possesses and applies broad knowledge of principles, practices and procedures of this particular field of specialization.
