Associate - Analyst

Job Description:   Our client, a major investment bank located in New York City, seeks an Associate-Analyst with strong quantitative and analytical skills to join the Segment Reporting team of their Asset Management Financial Control Group.  This individual will oversee the processing, accounting, and reporting efforts of segment compensation and legal entity matters in a fast paced and dynamic environment.

 

The ideal candidate will have 5 + years compensation and legal entity accounting experience with asset management exposure at a commercial bank or financial services firm.  Our client offers a starting salary up to $120K, plus bonus commensurate with experience.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

 

?  Ensure completion of periodic financial closes and SEC filings throughout the year.

?  Take lead role in developing and implementing policies, procedures, and incentive programs for the team.

?  Responsible for segment compensation accounting and related duties such as analyzing and forecasting budgets, investigating discrepancies with equity and deferred compensation processing (EICP/DCP), compensation reporting to senior management on domestic and international sites, and becoming involved in salary surveys.

?  Handle compliance on SOX as well as general ledger operations to promote a sound segment compensation practice.

 

 

Qualifications:

?  5 + years of compensation and legal entity accounting at a commercial bank or financial services institutions. 

?  Familiarity with Asset Management and legal entity accounting.

?  Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with multiple organizational levels.

?  Strong Analytical and Problem Solving Skills

?  Proficient in MS Office (i.e., Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) ? Essbase a plus

?  B.S. / B. A. in Accounting ? CPA a plus
