Associate Director - High Return - LONDON

Summary of Responsibilities

 

MetLife's High Return Unit originates, evaluates, and manages non-investment grade fixed income and equity investments. In London, the High Return team of 8 professionals is integrated into the activities of the Morristown-based High Return Unit. London provides local sourcing, market knowledge and credit expertise for European syndicated bank loans, mezzanine, high yield, bridge loans, emerging market debt and private equity.

 

Principal Responsibilities

 

Work with the High Return team in originating, underwriting and monitoring European bank loan, mezzanine, bridge loan and high yield transactions.


Evaluate new Leveraged Finance and High Yield investment opportunities.
Ongoing monitoring and management of assigned portfolio.
Assist in business development initiatives with banks and financial sponsors.
Support data and transaction processing systems requirements.

 

Required Competencies

 
Minimum five years experience in credit analysis and/or asset origination.
Knowledge of corporate transaction structuring and documentation.
Other credit/asset origination skills a plus (ie, Project Finance, Privates, etc)
Proficiency in Word, Excel, Charles River, and Notes applications.
Strong financial modeling skills.
Ability to communicate concisely and clearly, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
MBA and/or CFA.
Willingness to relocate to London for 2-4 year period
