Base Cost Analyst

CITY: Waterford STATE: New York COUNTRY: USA Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
The Base Cost Analyst will work with Functional owners with the GE Advanced Materials business to drive reporting and estimating of base cost and head count for annual estimates and forecasts.

Essential Functions:
* Provide base cost and headcount for monthly actuals, SI, SII, OP and Quarterly SRO processes.
* Perform base cost analysis and lead reviews with operations, CFO and Americas Pole leader to review resruls and drive cost reduction strategies.
* Lead GENPAC (a global service provider) support team on monthly closing activities that include but not limited to payroll monitoring, T&L Feeds, booking of US Treasury Bill, reconciling the European Cash pool, amoritization schedules and bond interest.
* Perform the benefits anlysis, manage intercompaning billing and reporting requirements.
* Assume ownership and drive improvement in reporting metrics and simplification in the base cost and other functional areas.

Qualifications/Requirements:
* BA/BS in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration.
* Minimum 2 years experience in either Accounting and/or Financial Analysis.
* Demonstrated excellence in accounting and financial analytical skills.
* Strong systems aptitude in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Powerpoint.
* Ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
* Excellent Written and Verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to work in a matrix, teaming focused environment.

* Gradate of Financial Management Program (FMP)
* Greenbelt Certified
* SAP business system experience
