Business Analyst/ Associate

CITY: New York City STATE: New York COUNTRY: USA Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
Global Sponsor Finance provides innovative financing to US and European private equity sponsors for leveraged transactions; including buyouts, acquisitions, growth and recapitalizations.

*Prepare financial models to assess risk and determine financial covenants. Conduct thorough industry research and concise business analysis of companies for the purpose of credit analysis.

*Develop/maintain relationships with "peers" at assigned sponsors to institutionalize relationships and develop key competencies.

*Assist and support deal teams in all aspects of the transaction underwriting and approval process, including pre-proposal and proposal presentations/letters, credit committee meetings, structuring and documentation.

*Responsible for monitoring and reporting on assigned accounts to ensure compliance with loan agreements and provide advice and recommendations on meeting customer needs and addressing compliance issues.

*Participate in managing customer accounts to ensure customer retention, account performance to established risk standards, and identification of opportunities for cross sales.

*Coordinate and direct loan administration & collateral monitoring activities, including timely and accurate input of financial statements into SAM/Alcar.

*Coordinate data and information flow to generate reports as needed.

*Participate in sales calls and customer negotiations under guidance of deal team leader, as needed.

*Responsible for loan closing logistics, including: reviewing and reconciling funds flow, arranging for transfer of funds, and working with Finance and the funding desk to ensure accurate and timely funding.

Qualifications/Requirements:
*A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Business and minimum 2+ years in accounting or financial analysis industry (or High School diploma/GED and 5 years of work experience)

*Highly developed interpersonal skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills.

*Possess sound judgment, and have the ability to properly balance business needs with the need to maintain CFS' credit and risk standards.

*Ability to develop strong working relationships with business unit managers while maintaining independence.

*Excellent analytic skills.

*Strong work ethic and commitment.
