Business Analyst/Equity Investments (EFS)

CITY: Stamford STATE: Connecticut COUNTRY: USA Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
GE Energy Financial Services (EFS), based in Stamford, Connecticut, offers structured equity, leveraged leasing, partnerships, project finance and broad-based commercial finance to the global energy industry.
*This position is part of a 5-person team within the Controllership group responsible for the accounting and reporting of a $3.8 billion partnership equity investment portfolio.
*Supervise and review various aspects of staff work.
*Work with the technical accounting and underwriting teams to understand complex structuring and accounting issues as they relate to new deals.
*Develop operational accounting plan to record initial investment and subsequent cash flows and income pick-ups.
*Analyze partnership financial statements.
*Analyze and reconcile deal exposures.
*Provide exposure and deal information to financial planning and analysis, portfolio and senior management teams.
* Assist in quarterly SEC reporting as they relate to the portfolio. *Review quarterly account reconciliations.
*Compile partnership financial statements for external distribution.
*Ad hoc requests as required.

Qualifications/Requirements:
*Strong technical, analytical ability and creative problems solving skills
*5+ years recent/ current public accounting experience or related work experience
*High energy level
*Controllership and analytical skills
*College degree in Accounting or related discipline
*Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.)
*Demonstrated interpersonal skills and initiative
*Prior managerial skills a plus

*CPA or Financial Management Program Graduate
*Equity Method Accounting Experience
*Energy Industry Experience
*Familiar with concepts of Six Sigma/Quality processes
