Business Development Officer

 

The incumbent is responsible for the effective management, of our Business Services Initiative, including business development and relationship management activities within the primary market area. Prospective business clients within this geography include existing customers that are operating as sole proprietorships, businesses that represent existing contacts and other non-public companies with annual sales between $50,000 and $2,500,000. In addition, the incumbent has primary responsibility for the annual review and revision of the sales and marketing plan for the Business Banking Initiative, including recommendations for new product development, as necessary.

 

Knowledge and Attributes Required:

 Knowledge of the principals of commercial lending and commercial
banking laws. Aptitude to assimilate applicable state banking Business Loan
regulations, as well as the Business Loan Policies and Procedures. Strong leadership skills with the ability to promote teamwork
and coach colleagues in other units, particularly branch locations, that
might become involved in business loan marketing activities. Strong interpersonal, selling and negotiating skills with proven
sales abilities. Effective organizational and analytical skills, with high degree
of computer literacy and fluency in various Microsoft programs, as well
as standard spreadsheet tools. Credit underwriting skills, including business and individual
financial statement analysis with special focus on liquidity, leverage,
cash flow and risk grading.

 

Academic Background and Experience:

 Bachelor's degree in Business or related field combined with a
minimum of 3 years of commercial banking experience. Sales training experiences should Include SPIN or other
consultative selling skills.
