Business Planning/Benefits Realization Manager


Lead coordinated, cross-organization, effort to develop processes, tools and systems that will result in timely, accurate, and consistent reporting of financial benefits associated with Business Transformation (BT) initiatives, including their distribution across lines of business.

 

Responsibilities:

 

?   Work with BT initiative/release teams and Benefits Realization and Metrics teams to clearly define BT financial benefits. For each initiative determine and document: 1) how the benefits are calculated - baselines, data sources, frequency, etc., 2) how the data will be measured and reported, and 3) ensure measurements are automated to extent possible and roles and responsibilities are clearly defined.

 

?  Develop and implement an end-to-end process to continually monitor and report benefits. Ensure transparency and understanding around benefits and how they are captured in PG&E?s financial results and forecasts. Develop and maintain a benefits reporting/communication package to summarize and present results to various audiences, including BT Steering Committee and sponsoring officers, initiative and release leads, Management Reporting, and Line of Business (LOB) business planners.

 

?  Ensure that benefits are properly accounted for in annual budget and multi-year financial plans. Evaluate risk and determine appropriate level of contingency for program benefits.

 

?  Direct the work of two senior analysts responsible for reporting function.

 

Required/Essential:

?  Demonstrated problem analysis and resolution capability

?  Demonstrated expertise in managing, organizing, and presenting complex data clearly and concisely

?  Analytical rigor and attention to detail

?  Minimum 7-10 years work experience in business planning, financial management, accounting, or project management

?  B.S. in Finance, Business, Engineering, Accounting, Operations

 

Desired/Marginal:

?  Experience developing and implementing financial benefit metrics and/or implementing process improvements

?  Knowledge of PG&E Operations

?  Knowledge of Utility Industry

?  Benchmarking

?  M.S. in Finance, Business, Engineering, Accounting, Operations
