Business Unit Controller

A large company in Binghamton is eager to find a Business Unit (divisional) Controller for their finance department. The candidate will partner with the Business Unit Manager and their staff to deliver the groups goals, direct preparation of annual budgets, review budget proposals, financial analysis, supervise general accounting, cost accounting and government compliance, maintain the integrity of the General Ledger, complete monthly financial closings, provide technical financial advice and knowledge to others within the function and operations, maintain effective internal controls to ensure protection of assets and an accurate reporting of financial position, ensure compliance with policies and procedures and assist in preparation of government contract proposals and submission of cost and pricing data.

Qualifications :
A bachelors degree in Accounting and/or Finance required, MBA and/or CPA preferred. At least 3-5 years in a controllership function managing a P&L of at least $30M and 7+ years of heavy manufacturing experience. 3-5 years in a supervisory capacity is required. Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing experience a plus. Strong background in GAAP, SEC Reporting and Sarbanes-Oxley Act compliance as well as Manufacturing Finance. Government contract accounting, familiarity with Federal Acquisitions Regulation (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) highly desirable. Experience with Oracle implementation is highly desired.
