Business Unit Controller: Equity Derivatives

UBS Investment Bank is seeking a financial analyst (preferably with equity/control experience) to work as part of the Equity Derivative Business Unit Control team. This role is part of a team responsible for:

* Verifying, analyzing and reporting daily/monthly P&L for the Listed Options Business

* Providing Contra Revenue analysis for Proprietary books listed options business and acting as Options costs specialist for the group

* Accounting for all aspects of the Listed option derivative business

* Ensuring all systems correctly represent trading positions

* Ad hoc projects driven by BUC and the equity business

The initial responsibilities of the role will include verification of bookings in settlement systems and accounting for the following products relating to the Listed Option Clearing business and can have remit with the single stock derivatives trading books. These books trade: Exotic options, Equity linked notes, vanilla OTC options, Stocks, ETD options, ETF's, Equity, and Term Loans.

Other responsibilities of the role include:

* Daily/monthly P&L commentary as required.

* Interaction with Business Mgmt, Traders, Operations, IT, Tax, Regulatory, Accounting, Reporting and Risk Management and building relationships with these groups.

* Recommending ways to improve information flow, P&L reporting, and value to management is key.

Monthly closing tasks include:

* Reconciliation of bookings to operational systems to ensure accuracy of numbers feeding the ledger.

* Monthly Reconciliation of P&L Reports.

* Review of Ops reconciliations to ensure material items are appropriately adjusted to books and records.

* Review and signoff of business unit balance sheets.

* Ad hoc requests and analysis.

The business is fast moving and is growing in terms of size and complexity, thus requiring a proactive, dynamic, innovative and motivated individual to join the team and to quickly take on the above responsibilities. To add maximum value, the role will also require an understanding of and contribution to the other functions of the wider BUC/Finance group.

Basic Qualifications

* Four year degree (BA/BS) or international equivalent in Economics or Accounting/Finance

* 2 to 4 years of accounting or audit experience, preferably in the banking sector.

* Minimum 2 years experience in Microsoft Excel

Preferred Qualifications

* CPA or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory

* Public accounting experience desired

* Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Access)

* Knowledge of Microsoft Access would be helpful
