Deloitte & Touche's Capital Markets Group is seeking a manager for their Energy Credit Risk Management Service Line.? Possible locations include New York, Chicago and Houston.? The successful candidate will possess 4-6 years of prior experience in an energy credit focused position.? Deloitte is seeking this professional for energy projects at mid to large energy firms, active in commodity transacting markets
at the wholesale level.? Ideal candidate would have demonstrated abilities in counterparty assessment and scoring, credit analytics, exposure measurement, project planning and execution, team leadership skills and consulting skills.? Deloitte would consider professionals with backgrounds in banking with experience serving energy clients, or with credit experience at energy firms.

The Credit Risk Management staff assists corporations, financial institutions, energy companies, telecommunication companies and others in designing, implementing and operating state-of- the-art credit risk methodologies and systems that represent the best practices within their industry and the highest and best use of technology. Engagements are client specific and designed to yield operational efficiencies, improved cash flows, reduced operating expenses, reduced financial risk and better leverage of technology.
It is envisioned that the ideal candidate possess 4-6 years experience either at a commercial bank
(and has completed credit training in a recognized program), with experience serving the energy sector, or as a senior credit analyst or manager at an energy firm.? Experience with credit issues related to some combination of energy commodities is required (natural gas, power, oil and refined products), with oil and/or refined products experience a plus.?? An undergraduate degree is required; progression in the Chartered Financial Analyst program is a plus. MBA is desirable.

In addition the selected candidate will possess many of the following:

- Deep technical knowledge of credit risk management methodologies and techniques (as appropriate for a commercial or retail credit focus), such as:
- Credit risk evaluation, including qualitative and quantitative approaches, as well as cash flow modeling and forecasting
- Credit exposure measurement techniques
- Credit risk mitigation techniques, such as collateralization, margining, credit derivatives,
etc.
- Leading practices in credit processes, policies, reporting, etc.
- Credit systems and technologies to enable efficient execution of the areas above
- Willingness to travel extensively (North America, and potentially globally).
- Understanding of capital markets activities and applications
- Strong analytical and research skills
- Project planning and management skills
- Team leadership experience in a project setting
- Prior consulting background is a plus
- Excellent oral and written communication skills coupled with outstanding presentation skills.
- Ability to set priorities, manage time effectively, manage multiple priorities, work effectively both independently and within team structures.?
