Chargeback Analyst

JOB SUMMARY:

Authenticate Trade Customer claims and payment deductions for shipping errors, defective products, pricing discrepancies, proof of delivery and co-op?s for chargeback?s related to infractions of established vendor guidelines for packing, shipping, reporting and invoicing customer orders. Monitor, match, and apply Return Authorization Merchandise (RMA) on Trade Customer accounts.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned

Develop understanding of Trade Sales Policies and terms of vendor agreements with key trade customers. Classify, investigate, and resolve trade customer deduction claims. Create and traffic interdepartmental documents for action on findings on chargeback claims including undocumented payment deductions for shortage, mispack, shipping error, and product defect.

Research and reconcile chargeback claims for Accounting to accept and/or deny invalid claims by interpreting all forms of data by performing account evaluations with satisfactory resolution 90 days from date of deduction.

 

Monitor, match, and apply qualifying Return Credits on trade customer?s accounts. Responsible for answering customer inquires, incoming phone calls, e-mails, faxes, correspondence and internal inquires.

Initiates appropriate follow-up action by telephone or written correspondence to trade customers and sales personnel including supporting documentation on denied claims for recovery of monies due.

Process and submit Credit Memo and/or Debit Memo requests with supporting documentation for Credit Manager Approval on infractions of purchase orders, invoicing or sales agreements.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school completion; college degree or credits preferred; Minimum three (3) or more year?s related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in analyzing commercial account receivables.
