We seek an individual with high integrity and prior analytical and modeling experience in the financial, commodity, or related industry.  No prior energy industry experience required.  We will train the right people.  This is a wonderful opportunity to come learn one of the leading overall industries in the U.S.

 

This person will report to the Director of Risk Management.  This individual would be championing the process of finding and analyzing pertinent natural gas and fuel oil market information and communicating it in a usable manner to team members, as well as internal and external clients.  The required character traits and job accountabilities are listed below.

Position responsibilities:

? Ability to develop complex econometric time-series models for forecasting natural gas and oil prices using available historical supply and demand data.  Must be able to evaluate models for errors, as well as evaluate output of the models versus the patterns of the market being modeled.

? Perform ad hoc analyses within natural gas and oil commodity markets, including timing studies, fundamental analysis and technical analysis.

? Ability to quickly and effectively utilize statistical software packages beyond the standard Microsoft Excel.

? Effectively communicate, both written and verbally, with internal and external clients in a concise manner. 

? Develop natural gas and oil commodity outlooks that are published weekly, monthly, and quarterly

? Assist with assessing client risks and in developing risk mitigation strategies for specific energy commodities

? Confidently communicate an opinion on past, present, and future market movements to colleagues and senior management within the company
