Community Development Manager

The Vail Valley Chamber & Tourism Bureau (VVCTB) is actively seeking a Community Development Manager to spearhead new initiatives and build an awareness of economic development in the Vail Valley.

 

Overall objective:  To build the value and relevance of the VVCTB through a focus on economic development, government affairs, and community relationships.  The main goal of community-economic development is to improve the economic well being of a community through efforts that entail job creation & retention, tax base enhancements and quality of life.  The Community Development Manager will embrace that philosophy through new and existing programs and services of the VVCTB. 

 

Primary Job Duties:Serve as VVCTB liaison to the Vail Valley Economic Development Council. Manage and coordinate research and information gathering relevant to economic demographics, statistics and industry trends in the greater Vail Valley. Build relationships with key economic stakeholders in the Vail Valley, including but not limited to: developers, brokers, lenders, town managers, and attorneys. Serve as liaison to economic interests of the Town of Vail, Town of Avon, Vail Resorts, Beaver Creek Resort Company, and Eagle County. Coordinate and serve as staff contact for the new Economic Affairs Committee, and oversee the vetting process as relates to issues and policies to be presented to the VVCTB Board of Directors for consideration. Represent VVCTB on regional committees and boards related to economic development issues (i.e. I-70 Coalition). Organize and coordinate issue-related events and forums designed to promote the awareness of issues and/or policies that face the community.

 

Additional Responsibilities:Attend weekly department meetings. Support the Partnership Department in its efforts to articulate the value proposition for membership within the VVCTB. Make recommendations to enhance the position of the VVCTB in key industries located within the Vail Valley. Other duties as assigned.
