Corporate Finance and Strategy Analyst

Pearson, the global publishing company that owns Pearson Education, Penguin and The Financial Times, is offering one corporate finance and strategy analyst position for an exceptional applicant who has a genuine passion for our businesses. The analyst will join Pearson?s Corporate Finance and Strategy Group in New York, which is part of a team of seven people based in London and New York.

 

Main purpose/objectives of role:

 

?  The Corporate Finance and Strategy Group assists Pearson?s business units in evaluating and co-ordinating potential acquisitions, disposals and business development opportunities. This includes DCF, trading multiples and precedent transaction valuation analyses and helping to co-ordinate transaction processes

?  Write and prepare board papers for Pearson plc board meetings

?  Conduct research and analysis of competitors and markets

 

The ideal candidate:

 

?  Accomplished educational background

?  One to three years work experience within an investment bank, strategic consulting firm, top four accounting firm or similar role in a blue chip corporation

?  Proven financial modelling and valuation experience

?  Highly numerate and commercially minded

?  Strong interpersonal and communication skills

?  Ability and confidence to work with senior management

?  Committed team player
