Corporate Tax Accountant - State & Local

Position Responsibilities : Responsible for preparing state and local sales and use, gross receipts, local excise, PUC levies, commercial rent, and Federal Excise Tax returns and payments for assigned regulated and /or non-regulated companies. Assembles, compiles, and analyzes financial data from other departments/corporate books for use in tax return preparation. Have responsibility for account reconciliations for their compliance companies. Prepares monthly accounting entries and performs detailed monthly and quarterly analysis for all tax accruals.Prepares monthly tax payment schedules for Treasury and Corporate. Update mechanized programs to reflect tax and/or accounting changes. Supports research, planning and technical tax issues analysis for all state and local, as well as federal excise tax.Assists in multi-state tax audits for all types of taxes.

 Required Skills and Experience: 2 or more years experience in Accounting or TaxAccounting or Finance related degree or equivalent work experienceStrong PC skills (Word and Excel)Must have strong oral and written communications skillsStrong quantitative and analytical skills

Desired Skills and Experience: Familiarity with the preparation and filing of tax returns, telco operations, audits, and research.Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance a plus.Graduate degree in Tax or CPA a plus.
