Cost Analyst - Smithfield, UT

Key Responsibilities
This is an excellent opportunity to develop your cost accounting skills and learn Schreiber's products and processes, with potential to advance quickly in plant or corporate accounting.
Assist in the development and maintenance of accurate product costs and analyses in accordance with company costing policies. This includes providing costs and analyses for new products, auditing and maintaining accurate costs within the cost system, providing appropriate cost and variance forecasts, and insuring that product cost changes are effectively communicated.
Working with team leader, establish systems, processes and procedures to collect and record data required for internal and external reporting. This includes maintaining accurate inventory and other balance sheet accounts, charging costs to the general ledger in accordance with the corporate chart of accounts and determining appropriate accruals.
Assist the team leader in providing explanations for period results.
Maintain a strong system of internal controls-which will insure the safeguarding of assets, compliance with GAAP and regulatory agency requirements, and the integrity and objectivity of financial and operational reporting.
Provide appropriate financial and operational measurement and analysis as required by the various teams supported.

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.

4-8 years of cost or general accounting or audit experience including 2+ years of cost accounting experience preferably in a manufacturing or food-processing environment.

Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel.

Experience with Oracle, PeopleSoft or similar system preferred.

Excellent professional oral and written communication skills.
