A Credit Fraud Analyst researches possible fraudulent order activity of on-line purchases.  There are numerous reasons on-line orders might be considered fraudulent.  Credit Fraud Agents need to know the path to uncover if a questionable order is falsified as quickly as possible.  The goal of this department is to provide timely service to customers while controlling risk associated with fraud losses. 

 

Credit Fraud Agents work through orders placed on-line, looking to verify that the information provided on the order matches the real customer, i.e. verifying the shipping address of that order.  There are numerous reasons as to why an order might be tagged as possible fraud such as items ordered, dollar amount, etc.  Each order is different, yet a decision on how to proceed needs to be made quickly.  Credit Fraud Analysts frequently make contact with the issuing banks and customers to verify identities.  Also must be skilled in using the Internet, and performing basic web based searches.  One-on-one training provided.

 

Skills Required:  Basic accounting knowledge, computer savvy with MS Office & Internet, enjoys problem solving/resolution, aptitude to expedite completing tasks/orders, strong analytical skills, quality customer service or social skills, first-rate phone etiquette, professional in resolving conflict, capability to keep confidential sensitive customer information, ability to make quick decisions/judgment calls, talent to work independently, willingness to grow from constructive criticism.
