DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT

DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT - University of Virginia Children?s Hospital - The University of Virginia Health System - one of the country's most respected leaders in health care, medical research, and education - seeks a Director of Development for the UVA Children's Hospital. The University of Virginia has embarked on an ambitious $3B university-wide capital campaign that will propel it to the forefront of modern American research universities. During this campaign, the Director of Development will seek funding to build a new Children's Hospital at UVA and support for other departmental priorities. The ideal candidate will be a motivated, energetic, talented and team-oriented individual who possesses a personal commitment to improving children's health. Additionally, this individual will have demonstrated campaign experience in cultivating, soliciting and closing six figure gifts and above and will have an understanding of working with diverse medical center groups such as board members, volunteers, and medical faculty. This position requires a Master's degree from an accredited college or university and excellent interpersonal and communications skills, both oral and written. A Bachelor's degree and significant development experience may be considered in lieu of a Master's degree. The position requires travel and some evening and weekend work.


Qualifications: Master's Degree or a Bachelor's Degree and significant development experience. Experience working in development, preferably major gifts. Experience working at an academic medical center or with diverse medical center groups.
