Direct Marketing Associate

Job Description: Assist the Direct Marketing Manager in the development, coordination and implementation of current marketing and new business development initiatives.

Identify and compile the business development and learning objectives for new and existing programs. Translate hypotheses and business objectives into specific business requirements that drive the data selection and targeting processes.



Apply solid judgment and decision making when incorporating different criteria into the campaign comprehending and effectively communicating the impact of data requirements and their resulting business implications. Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors by sharing knowledge and fostering open communication to ensure fulfillment of the marketing campaigns including: creation, maintenance, and implementation of the data processing instructions to target populations and assign offers.



Perform quality assurance audits for each marketing campaign in a timely, efficient and effective manner. Validate data output from internal and external sources. Review final direct marketing materials prior to launch. Execute marketing programs through appropriate tools and technology. Support innovation and change in multiple database marketing projects spanning several months potentially including new data sources for programs, special audits, process improvements, performance measurement, list selection and testing. Track and analyze campaign/project expenses accurately to reconcile with operating plan and budget.



Continuously learn by conducting routine performance measurement for campaign operations informing business decision making. Implement and continuously improve quality assurance procedures and compliance monitoring of processes to support management of operational risk, in accordance with Company and regulatory standards.

Complete other related duties as assigned and support the Company’s Diversity programs. Approximate project management span 5 - 7 campaigns and 5 - 10 tests monthly. Support programs across the Internet, Call Centers and other emerging channels.

Job Experience:

Bachelor degree in marketing, mathematics, MIS, finance, related field or equivalent experience

One to three years proven database marketing or equivalent experience.

Knowledge and understanding of database marketing business practices and procedures

Financial services background preferred

Solid organizational, problem solving, project and process management

Verbal, written and communication skills

Proficiency with personal computers as well as exposure to SQL or similar programming language

Solid PC software skills including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation programs

Must build trust and work collaboratively and fluidly across functional boundaries

Limited travel is required for vendor meetings, training sessions and industry trade association meetings to maintain and develop database marketing expertise
