Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
Essential Functions:
Advising and monitoring of production incentives both domestic and abroad, including becoming familiar with details of various incentives that may be used by production entities. Includes liaising with film offices and other appropriate government agencies to fully understand the qualification and calculation process to assist production budgeting.
Advising on structuring both foreign and domestic filming activities in order to minimize income, withholding and VAT/GST tax issues.
Advising on reporting and withholding matters, including both compensation and non-compensation payments.
Advising on contractual arrangements, with special emphasis on issues related to loan-out companies and pass-through entities.
Secure accreditation for Canadian productions, interface with outside advisors and monitor subsequent audits in order to maximize Canadian incentives and minimize timeframe of entire process.
Advise on tax matters of West Coast-based acquisitions, dispositions and transactions.
Monitoring and participating in MPAA related issues.

Qualifications/Requirements:
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum 8 years tax experience in a public accounting firm and/or large multi-state company
Bachelors degree required
Experienced in tax research
