Director, Risk & Insurance Mngt

Position Summary:

The Director, Risk Management will be responsible for providing the leadership to ensure the establishment and maintenance of an efficient, comprehensive global risk management program capable of securing the company?s risk profile needs. This position will direct the risk management function of the company, including insurance/risk financing, incident reporting and claims management, risk identification and analysis, legal interface, and risk management education. This position will provide proactive counsel to assist the company in adopting and adhering to best risk management practices on a company-wide basis. It will also lead the administration of franchisee business insurance and assist in the development of loss prevention programs for franchisees.

Accountabilities:

? Provide the leadership to maintain the risk management function at a superior level of performance capable of cost effectively managing the risks associated with the company?s ongoing businesses and strategic initiatives.
? Review, formulate, and implement risk management policy, working under the general direction of the Treasurer. Direct implementation of new and existing programs and monitor progress toward specific goals.
? Co-ordinate with outside vendors and the Legal department to determine and develop Franchisee insurance programs, train new franchisees on insurance requirements, and help to develop loss prevention programs for franchisees.
? Lead the annual policy evaluation and renewal process.
? Manage a disciplined and comprehensive company-wide risk management process that provides information needed to select appropriate risk/return tradeoffs.
? Recommend acceptable levels of risk to senior management, providing sophisticated reports that provide a comprehensive view of coverage and exposures across the business.
? Apply analysis and determine a risk profile that is consistent with the company?s strategic objectives and operating model.
? Research and recommend insurance brokers, underwriters, consultants or other service companies to be used for handling various programs.
? Manage the financial administration of the risk financing program, including the budgeting and accounting activities.
? Provide leadership and professional development to staff members on the risk management team.
? Develop relationships and collaborate effectively across the organization to achieve objectives.


Requirements:

Bachelor?s degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, or Finance with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in risk management.

Experience should include developing, directing, and implementing a risk management program for a large, global organization. Restaurant or retail industry preferred, but not necessary.

Master?s degree, CPA, and/or CPCU or ARM certification preferred.
