SUMMARY

 

The Director of Financial Reporting works with the Corporate Controller in the oversight of the accounting function and serves as a primary technical resource for all accounting issues.  The Director of Financial Reporting is responsible for the consolidation of worldwide financial statements in accordance with GAAP.  This individual establishes and maintains accounting principles, practices, and procedures to assure that financial and operating reports accurately reflect the condition of the business and provide reliable information to control operations.  The Director of Financial Reporting reviews account reconciliations on a monthly basis, prepares the Company?s external financial reports (including 10-Ks, 10-Qs, etc.) in accordance with GAAP and applicable SEC guidelines, and acts as a principle liaison with U.S. audit engagement team and completion of quarterly reviews.  The Director of Financial Reporting provides complete backup to the Corporate Controller in his/her absence and assists in hiring, developing, and supervising team members, and motivates and builds effective accounting teams.



 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 Oversees the General Accounting Function including preparation of monthly worldwide consolidated financial statements in accordance with GAAP and works with international accounting teams to understand audit and accounting issues as they relate to the consolidated financial statements.Manages the audit and review processes and provides information as needed to independent auditors.Responsible for preparing the 10-Q and 10-K filings in accordance with GAAP and SEC guidelines.Responsible for ensuring compliance with SOX 404.Reviews all financial packages, financial statements, and account reconciliations. Researches accounting implications for transactions that occur.Works with international accounting teams to understand audit and accounting issues as they relate to the consolidated financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.Understands and prepares entries related to FAS123R. Assumes duties of the Corporate Controller in his/her absence.Creates and maintains SOX and departmental desk procedure manuals.Assists in hiring, training, and developing accounting staff.

 

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

 

 

Minimum 5-10 years experience working in a public company or equivalent combination of industry and public accounting experience.  Bachelor of the Arts/Science degree in Accounting and CPA certificate required.  Knowledge of Telecommunications Industry a plus.

 The employee will likely be placed in an office.  The work environment characteristics are representative of those of an employee encounters while performing essential functions of the job in a typical office/workstation situation.  Able to work sitting or standing at desk and operate a computer via standard input devices such as using a keyboard and reading information on a monitor.
