Director of Compensation:
To provide senior level consultative support to a major, new segment of the corporation in the areas of compensation strategy, policy, and planning, as well as program design, implementation, and communication. Work with VP, Comp, other COE participants and management to develop compensation strategy, policy, and programs. Develop a deep knowledge and understanding of Thomson, including financials, business drivers, goals, and culture. Work closely with SVP, HR of THOMSONPlus on key compensation matters Obtain understanding of Thomson corporate and market group financials, business drivers, and culture in order to facilitate appropriate offers Develop and implement methodology to provide competitive consistent market pricing for internal and external offers for THOMSONPlus Work with HRBPs and line leaders to develop specialized incentive programs to meet unique business needs as necessary Consult with HRBPs and line leaders to help develop the most effective job structures for the organization; create and communicate documentation, including descriptions, job codes, and pricing Participate in developing and managing annual incentive plans Lead development of sales compensation plans for advertising sales staff Lead key COE initiatives, such as systems development and implementation Manage recognition programs within organization Manage program executive data and reporting as required Monitor legal and regulatory compliance and oversee appropriate reporting Work closely with SSC to assure appropriate services are provided
Qualifications:Strong interpersonal and communication skills Previous compensation-related experience in a large scale transformation with global workforce transition implications Previous experience in a technologically-related transformation Willingness to work in a multi-task, high volume culture with quick turnarounds Demonstrated creative thinking and problem solving skills In-depth knowledge of compensation issues, trends, and practices Experience working within fast-paced, complex, dynamic, and multi-cultural business environments Strong project management, organizational, and conflict resolution skills Proven ability to build relationships with, and influence all levels within an organization Proven management and people development skills 10+ years experience in base compensation, incentive development, and reward systems with some experience in executive compensation preferred College degree required; MAIR & MBA preferred Generalist HR experience preferred
