Director of Inventory and Payables Accounting

Job Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for the establishment, maintenance and testing of overall policies, procedures and controls over inventory and accounts payable accounting and reporting.  You will work with store and warehouse management and will manage a team of accounting personnel who?s goal it is to assure adequacy and effectiveness of the inventory and accounts payable accounting, including systems integrity and maintenance, physical inventory reporting, adjustment control and reconciliation, vendor interface, general ledger accounting and profit leak identification and reduction.  You will apply your solid four to six years of experience in generally accepted accounting principles and provide all audit support for areas of responsibility.

 

 

Skills Required:

 Four to six years inventory accounting and inventory adjustment control experience in a company with revenues greater than $100 million.Substantial background in accounts payable processing related to inventory accounting.Bachelor?s degree with an emphasis in ?Accounting.?Minimum two years management experience.Good written and oral communication skills.Strong generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) background.Strong internal controls.Strong systems background.Retail industry experience preferred.Sarbanes Oxley experience a plus.Island Pacific inventory management experience a plus.Manhattan warehouse management system experience a plus.JD Edwards accounting system experience a plus.CPA certification preferred.Residence within 25 miles of Corporate headquarters in El Segundo, CA, or willing to relocate. Compensation & Benefits:
