ETL Data Warehouse Engineer

Position summary: 

In this role you will have the opportunity to provide service and solutions around the development, enhancement, and maintenance of business intelligence systems. This role offers the opportunity for significant user interaction in the form of requirements gathering, definition, and solution delivery. Hopefully, the person who fills this position will grow into a senior member of the team with some project management responsibilities.

 

Responsibilities:Analyzing, developing, and enhancing ETL processes in an effort to implement a fully-architected data environment including a Data Warehouse, Data Marts, Data Stage areas, and Operational Data Stores.Developing source to target ETL data mappings.Establishing ETL standardsContributing to the overall architecture, design, and implementation of the data warehouse.Working closely with the development team and other staff to formulate and implement a flexible design that meets functional requirements.Education/knowledge transfer of ETL expertise to other data management team members

 

Skills and experience:Strong background in relational database concepts and best practices.Strong background in Data Warehousing concepts and best practices.Strong SQL programming skills - T/SQL or PL/SQL.Experience with analyzing and implementing ETL solutions for operational (OLTP) and analytical (OLAP) systems.Strong foundation and understanding of Dimensional Modeling and OLAP, especially ROLAP. Ability to take a set of business requirements, analyze them, and identify the proper ETL processes necessary to meet the requirements.Strong team working skills, an analytical nature, life-long learning and excellent written and oral communications skills are requirements for this position

 

Required Experience:

 BS/BA in Computer Science, Computer Technology, Information Systems, or similar field.Expert ETL tool experience (MS DTS/SSIS, Informatica, Data Integrator, DataStage)Extensive ETL analysis and implementation experience.Extensive Data Warehousing experience.Knowledge of common RDBMS (SQL Server or Oracle)Strong written and verbal communication skills.Enjoy contributing in a team environment.
