Energy Credit Analyst

Position Description:? Prepare comprehensive credit analysis in order to evaluate the credit risks of proposed transactions for counterparties involved in the physical and financial trading of energy commodities. Review documentation and assist with negotiation of credit terms. Assign internal risk ratings in accordance with the firm?s risk rating methodologies. Effectively communicate recommendations to management.? Prepare written annual reviews of a portfolio of clients and pro actively monitor the portfolio. Assist in the credit risk measurement process, including modeling of potential exposure and calculation of credit reserves. Keep abreast of external events and trends that may impact the sector.

Preferred Background and Skills:

???????? Candidate must have an understanding of the energy market and a working knowledge of the risk management of energy derivatives.

???????????5 + years work experience required.

????????? Excellent written and oral communication skills.

?????????Strong analytical skills, familiarity with statistical and econometric concepts as pertains to energy modeling preferred.

?????????Understanding of risk concepts, including Value at Risk, Potential Exposure, Volatility and Correlation

?????????Team oriented but also ability to be a self-started and work independently.

???????? Strong organizational skills and capacity to work on multiple tasks in a time sensitive environment.

??????? A college degree is required.? MBA and/or CFA is a plus.?Participate in group or departmental projects. Interact with marketers and traders as well as senior risk management professionals.?
