FEG Manager

Position Summary:


This Finance Manager position is within the Company's largest R&D engineering organization reporting to the Operations Finance Director.  The organization comprises of 8 core groups.  In Santa Clara, we have five main groups which drive commonality (and subsequent savings) across the company. 

This Manager will oversee two (2) Financial analysts who are responsible for the budgeting, consolidation, financial reporting, financial management and FP&A for the 8 groups (including HQ and smaller organizations). 

 

The position is extremely high profile, as the Manager will partner closely with operational Executives across the organizations, therefore, strong communication/interpersonal skills are critical as each group's infrastructure can be extremely diverse. 

 

Key Skills:

 B.S in Accounting/Finance/Business Administration/Economics
CPA / MBA preferred, not mandatory Experienced in Process Development, Financial Systems, and Internal Business Controls Strong analytical and problem solving skills Ability to interface with multiple levels of operations management Extremely strong communication / interpersonal skills Strong computer skills (Excel and PowerPoint) Excellent communication skills Self-starter, ability to work independently Effective in a team environment Knowledge of SAP, Oracle, Lotus Notes (Hyperion desirable)

 

Job Responsibilities:

 Partner with operational groups to assist in the achievement of business goals and targets. Team up with Operational Executives to prioritize spending. Determine proper accounting treatment for non-recurring activities.  Support the Project Based activities and ongoing Operating Expenses Develop forecasting model based on various drivers. Develop and streamline business processes including: Project manage the development and implementation of project cost tracking Address business processes and financial control issues in the Purchase Requisition database Identify opportunities for business efficiencies  Develop desktop procedures to document new business processes Provide Finance training to Operations Assist with ad-hoc projects/reporting as required Weekly/Monthly/Quarterly Financial Management: Monitor Actual to Forecast through the maintenance of weekly checkbooks Prepare quarterly forecast Reviews and present to Management Reconcile and review accounts for quarterly Balance Sheet Review Identify financial control weaknesses and develop corrective actions Perform Month-end close related activities Perform annual Asset audits, participate in Internal/External audits and the annual Self-assessment Perform FP&A activities
