Finance Director/Controller

Company Description:

A full service environmental, technical, remediation and environmental construction organization serving the southeastern United States.  The company maintains offices in Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida with its corporate headquarters in Nashville, Tennessee.

 

Job Summary:

The Company is seeking a Finance Director / Controller to report to the President/CEO and direct the day-to-day financial and accounting activities of the Company.  The person needs to have a strong accounting background, be highly motivated, be a good team contributor and want to work in a highly entrepreneurial environment.  The candidate will have the opportunity to take significant responsibilities within an established yet growing company.  Experience in environmental and construction industries or related fields are a plus.

 

 

Location: Nashville

 

Essential Functions:

1.  Maintain the company's accounts general ledger, CIP systems, manage payables, and keep records on all company transactions.

2.  Develop and produce monthly reporting packages for Management.

3.  Coordinate and prepare monthly/annual budgets and financial forecasts.

4.  Assume responsibility for tax planning and compliance with all federal, state, and local corporate, payroll and other applicable taxes.

5.  Coordinate closely with outside tax and accounting advisors to prepare reports as needed.

6.  Provide effective financial controls for the organization.

7. Coordinate and procure all insurance coverage?s

8. Liaison with State regulatory agencies on annual reporting matters

 

Essential Background:

? BA/BS Degree in Accounting, Finance or related major

? CPA certification a plus

? 4+ years of experience in financial management or accounting

? Entrepreneurial attitude, strong problem-solving abilities, willingness to work hard

? Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)

? Extensive experience with accounting software packages and Excel
