Position Summary: This position contributes to ARC North America?s success by supporting, developing, and improving the financial processes that enable sound planning and decision-making for the Retail business unit, which includes 100+ retail stores across the USA.  This role facilitates the development of strategic and operating plans and influences financial decision making to the region teams. 





Reporting Relationships: Incumbent reports directly to the Director Retail Finance.  This person also works closely with the entire retail management team.





Key Responsibilities:

Acts as the primary financial resource for the Region teams. Partners with Region leadership including cross-functional departments to attain financial and operational targets by identifying sales opportunities and trends, controlling all costs in the operating statement and assisting the execution of operational initiatives.
Leads the development of the business unit or department's annual operating budget and quarterly forecasts. Supports the development of strategic and operating plans. Establishes timelines and initiates reviews with managers to ensure plans are delivered on time and are consistent with overall company plans. Identifies and communicates plans' risks and opportunities. Conducts decision analyses, communicates results, and influences decision makers to achieve desired results.
Performs due diligence for new initiatives. Performs sensitivity and incremental cost and benefit decision analyses. Conducts audits. Models financial data and provides analytical support of business initiatives and contract negotiations. Identifies, analyzes, and communicates trends and issues affecting the business.
Provides analysis and feedback on financial performance and key performance measures. Prepares weekly, monthly and year-to-date (YTD) management reports. Provides root cause variance explanations and highlights opportunities and risks.
Provides fiduciary responsibility for the Regions, insuring company financial policies are followed and that company resources are used efficiently.
Provides financial information and guidance to all levels of management. Influences and partners with the regional management teams. Establishes and facilitates process development and improvement initiatives.





Qualifications:

5-7 years experience building organization level budgets and forecasts
Financial analysis or accounting with a medium to large organization with exposure to most major organizational functions. Experience working in a retail organization is a must!
Variance analysis and presentation experience at senior levels of the organization
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
Strong attention to detail
Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and changing environment
Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Advanced financial modeling skills
Working knowledge of financial and management accounting principles
Ability to influence decision-making at the senior management level
Ability to work both independently and as a member of a cross-functional leadership team
Ability to become proficient in all accounting / management information systems (SAP experience highly desirable)
Ability to analyze impact of all areas of the income statement
