Finance Manager- Retail Hardlines

The Hardlines Finance team is seeking a Finance Manager to support the Home & Garden, Auto, and BISS product lines.  This role is responsible for all financial and business analysis related to these businesses and works very closely with the business leadership on operational and strategic management issues. 


Typical responsibilities include; business and financial modeling, delivering critiques of proposed initiatives, helping take approved initiatives to market, and daily/weekly/monthly tracking of financial results.  These responsibilities require a thorough and disciplined approach to business analysis — effectively balancing logical, financial and competitive/industry insight.


 


Success in this role depends, in part, on the person’s ability to foster deep relationships at all levels of the organization through a proven understanding of the business risks and opportunities. 


 


The Finance Manager is also a visible position to the Amazon Finance community. The Finance Manager is viewed as the primary Finance point of contact for the Home & Garden, Auto & BISS products.  The role will drive the annual planning process for these businesses and manage expectations across the business and central finance teams. 


 


The Finance Manager will frequently be called upon to present to, and participate in business discussions with divisional and company-wide senior leadership.  This requires a proven track record of excellence in written and verbal communication skills.

MBA with 5+ years of business finance experience, or CPA with a demonstrated record of business finance partnership. Direct experience in retail or online retail a strong plus but not necessary, however must display a solid understanding of the online business arena Strong analytic skills, with a proven record of building and managing financial models for business forecasting, problem solving, initiative tracking Strong communication skills — both written and verbal; proven ability to communicate effectively at all levels of an organization.  Must be comfortable presenting and/or communicating directly with senior leadership. Must be fluent in standard software including Excel and Access. An understanding of SQL, UNIX or Perl would be considered a plus.
