Role:
Serves as the highest level technical contributor with expertise in supporting application development in the Systems Domain. Responsible for defining requirements by using system requirement definition, case development, conceptual and logical modeling, and class diagramming. Acts as a technical resource for other business systems analysts and may coach and mentor them with their technical skills. Acts as a liaison between application development and business units to provide analytical support and consulting on complex projects to ensure system and business requirements are clearly documented and understood during the design and development of the application. Devises and/or modifies procedures to solve the most complex technical problems related to application development. Responsible for conducting data analysis. Assists predictive model developers, data architects and other team members to ensure development efforts meet data quality requirements as defined by the projects.

Principal Accountabilities:
Will determine new methods and develop new procedures for accomplishing work. Provides work direction and assigns tasks to lower level employees. Identifies or creates solutions that are likely to contribute to the development of new company concepts. Interfaces with all levels of management to negotiate project priorities and outcomes.
1. Responsible for conducting data analysis of both SAS and relational structures.
2. Responsible for conducting data analysis on ill-structured data sources and defining the mapping of these sources to highly structured targets such as databases and XML (a.k.a. tape cracking).
3. Tracks, reports, researches data and process related issues and proposes solutions.
4. Researches and proposes ETL, SAS, data profiling, data quality and relational database tools and utilities to facilitate and support data analysis.
5. Works with data stewards and process owners to resolve data issues in source system as well as integration/ replication issues.
6. Works with the data warehouse, analytical model, business process and supporting teams as necessary to understand, document, and validate data flows, data relationships, and data timings across these systems.
7. Works closely with the data architects, database developers, data analysts, and ETL developers to propose and design complete integration solutions.

9. Provides data analysis on a project and ad-hoc request basis.
Capabilities:
1. Domain knowledge (mortgage business)
2. Knowledge of data platforms (ORACLE, MS SQL Server, IMS) and database programming languages
3. Understanding of enterprise data architecture principles
4. Working knowledge of the replication process between databases
5. Working knowledge of the ETL process
6. Working knowledge of data profiling and data cleansing
Technical Capabilities & Department Specific Accountabilities:
Minimum: Strong SAS background, detail oriented, knowledgeable about Oracle and SQL Server platforms, strong SQL and query tools background, knowledgeable about data modeling, and knowledgeable about SAS analytic modeling, methodology, and reporting in RCG, knowledgeable about Excel, text files, and other data file formats.
Desired: Knowledgeable about data architectures and database technologies.
Good working knowledge of UML
Experience with Trillium or FirstLogic.
Understanding of meta-data.
Experience with IMS.

The BA supports the business in defining the business opportunity and what is needed actualize the opportunity. The BA is responsible for the success of the Requirements Definition (RD) Process including business requirement definition, use case development and conceptual and logical modeling (as needed). The BA understands business, operational process and technology environments, application capabilities and general architectural constraints, and is capable of leveraging and successfully applying this information to bring the best business-focused solution forward.
Principal Accountabilities
Principle duties and responsibilities of this job classification and percent of time typically spent performing each:
1. The BA works closely with Business Representatives (SMEs), Business Process Analysts, Business Technology Analysts, Business Systems Analysts, Data Analysts, Marketing and Trainers to:Elicit business requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirement workshops, use case review or other applicable approaches Writes clear, concise and traceable business requirements Provide analytical support ensuring business requirements are clearly documented and understood during the design and development of the applicationEnsures requirements are implemented within the defined solutions, and Support rollout communication and training efforts
2. Primary interface with the various system and operational areas consuming business requirements
3. Supports the definition of UAT and Integration Test Plans and facilitates User Acceptance Testing planning and execution
4. Identifies the sources of business data and how the data is used and interacts with business processes and business systems
5. Identifies and determines the impact to change requirements on scope and dependent requirements
6. Estimates task efforts and anticipated durations for Project Plan
