Financial Accountant

Essential Functions (Responsibilities): (2000 character limit in this field)This position will assist the Life Support Solutions (LSS) Controller in driving consistent accounting policies, procedures and systems within the $400M Global LSS Business.* Assist in month and year-end financial close for LSS* Provide internal financial reports for the LSS business, including P&L and Balance Sheet reports* Preparation of monthly/quarterly account reconciliations* Support external/internal audits and assist in any resulting corrective action plans* Establish and monitor financial controls (spending authorizations, reserve analysis, actual to operating plan comparisons)* Implement programs to improve Balance Sheet performance and cash flow management* Participate in other financial processes for LSS, including SI, SII and the Operating Plan
Qualifications/Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration and minimum of three years of financial work experience or High School Diploma/GED and minimum of seven years financial work experience* Ability to communicate with all levels and resolve issues in a timely, positive manner.* Strong analytic skills: able to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers, generate alternatives and drive positive change* Clear thinking / problem solving: successfully lead projects/process improvement within operations/finance function involving process improvement; able to quickly grasp new ideas* Solid PC skills: experience with financial reporting systems/applications (i.e.: Oracle, COGNOS, Business Objects, etc.), strong Excel skills including pivot tables & Vlookups * You must be legally authorized to work in the United States* You must be willing to submit to a background investigation, including for example, verification of past employment, criminal history, and educational background* You must be willing to take a drug test* You must be willing to work out of an office located in Madison, WI
