Financial Analysis Manager

GES Exposition Services, a leading tradeshow and event marketing company, is seeking a high-energy, growth-oriented professional with demonstrated leadership abilities, integrity and passion for hassle-free service for the position of Financial Analysis Manager in Cypress, CA.

 

General Responsibilities: 

Function:

Support local and national operations in accumulating information, analyzing data and assisting in financial reporting for planned shows and ad hoc city analysis.  Perform in supervisory role over city analysts.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:
Supervise team of Financial Analyst ? Operations, including providing leadership, training and ongoing guidance.
Take lead on large shows as identified for the region.
Work with show staff to analyze identified (e.g., JUMP) shows for total revenue capture, flow-thru maintenance, costs controls
Directs & coordinates preparation of labor projections for labor analysis
Facilitates process of documenting operational analysis re: actual v. plan/forecasted results
Assists in development of forecasts for current quarter?s JUMP shows (or others as identified)
Works w/ appropriate managers in preparation of labor strategies & operational plans
Works with Financial Analyst ? Forecasting & Reporting to ensure results are appropriately reflected on financial statements and variances from post show report & forecast are documented
Focuses on the ?why? not just the ?what?.
Acts as financial advisor to city team members
Works with team members in preparation of show budget
Works with local management to identify capital needs and prepare related justifications
Ability to assist / cross utilize with Financial Analysts - Forecasting & Reporting.
Other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor and/or requested by operations leadership.



 

Education/Experience: 



Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business or Finance
General understanding of GAAP
4-6 years General Business & Analysis Experience
Operations analysis background preferred
Leadership experience
Ability to manage teams located remotely
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines with little supervision
Must be a team player, and self-starter with an understanding of team goals
Proven verbal communication and influencing skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, General Ledger systems and Reporting Packages (preferably Oracle and/or Hyperion)
Occasional travel

Working Conditions:
Typically performs work in an office setting
Travel will be required on an as needed basis.
Weekend work may be required based on show schedule and general workloads and deadlines.

Requires working both alone and with others in a team atmosphere
