Join Our Team!
Responsible for project coordination and management among a specified team of Financial Analysts in addition to staff accountability for assigned analysis functions that may include healthplan, internal, or subcontractor analysis. The Financial Analyst II also provides support to the Manager or Director in developing policies and procedures, assuring department product quality, mentoring, training, hiring, and performance appraisals.
Healthplan Analysis: Maintains a solid working knowledge of all healthplan contracts and their assignment to various client entities.
Develops effective controls to monitor healthplan financial performance and assure adherence to all contract financial provisions.
Serves as a liaison with healthplan representatives regarding implementation of contract financial terms.
Develops models to predict healthplan performance.
Assures the quality and coordination of healthplan reporting including enrollment, capitation, pharmacy, hospital fund, and other factors.
Coordinates and implements additional healthplan reporting as dictated by the current needs of client organizations.
Ensures supportability of healthplan revenue accruals, and consistency of GL entries.
Recommends revenue enhancement or cost reductions strategies in relation to healthplan management and contracting.
Develops models and/or systems, which assures parity in allocations between the various entities.
Develops audit procedures and systems for healthplan financial activity for assigned plans, which identifies discrepancies and maximizes recovery.
Assures receipt of all assigned healthplan reports according to contract and/or historical schedules; follows up on all missing or erroneous reports within 30 days.
Protects client rights through the use of documentation of unresolved healthplan issues, including quantification of financial effects where pertinent.
Internal Consulting: Develops and maintains systems, which allow for ease of data retrieval and manipulation from a variety of sources including claims payment; utilization management; healthplan risk pools; subcontractor capitation; internal charges; subcontractor risk pools; and others as necessary.
Assures accuracy and timeliness of subcapitation payments.
Develops systems and assures the timeliness of risk pool reconciliations.
Develops financial models for new ventures.
Performs historical studies for the purpose of forecasting future costs.
Develops subcapitation and risk pool models.
Develops models to evaluate provider contract proposals.
Identifies trends in claims expenses and recommends methods for reduction.
Coordinates requests for analysis from internal departments and external clients, including assignment, mentoring, and establishing timelines.
Performs research on industry performance measures for evaluation of client performance.
All: Assists in the development of departmental policies and procedures.
Provides input on staff hiring, training, and performance appraisals.
Acts as a resource and provides mentoring to a team of analysts.
Ensures accuracy and readability for all team projects.
Performs additional duties as assigned.
A bachelors degree from a four-year college. Two or more years experience in a managed healthcare organization is ideal.Lead or supervisory experience. Two to four years high level analytical and/or financial and/or accounting experience, two years of which are substitutable by a graduate degree. and/or a professional certification requiring formal education beyond a two year college.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Fluent in PC applications.
