Financial Analyst- Business and Financial Planning

 

The Business and Financial Planning department (B&FP) provides a variety of planning services to senior management at Pacific Gas and Electric and PG&E Corporation. Financial Analysts have an opportunity to learn a broad range of financial forecasting, corporate finance, and economic analysis skills, and to become familiar with the company and the electric and gas industries.

 

Responsibilities:

1. Assist in producing timely, accurate financial forecasts and data for use in presentations to senior management and in communicating with the financial community and regulators. Assist in the maintenance, development and enhancement of existing financial models and associated databases. Ensure appropriate documentation of model logic and assumptions. Initially, the Financial Analyst will be responsible for updating recorded information in B&FP?s cash forecast model.


2. Use financial analysis models, spreadsheets, or other techniques to analyze financial and business planning issues. Prepare research on key issues impacting PG&E?s business environment, profitability and planning effectiveness.


3. Assist utility business units in preparing financial forecasts and analysis of specific investment proposals. Support regulatory activity.

Essential/Required:

*2+ years of financial analysis experience and experience using financial models and databases
*Strong analytical skills
*Strong verbal and written communication skills

*Initiative and drive to continuously improve work products

*Bachelor?s or Master?s degree in finance, business administration, economics, engineering economics or related field


Marginal/Desired:
*Understanding of basic financial accounting principles

*Experience using SAP
