Financial Analyst - Corporate Reporting

The Analyst will assist in the monthly close process and perform monthly account analysis and reconciliations. This position is responsible for calculating and reporting the number of shares outstanding. The analyst will analyze corporate debt accounts, and prepare monthly interest expense analysis. This will require the analyst to work closely with the Treasury and Human Resource departments. The analyst will also prepare supporting schedules for various governmental filings including 10K & 10Q.

Qualifications
1. Common Stock - Record all Sears Holdings stock transactions and prepare monthly number of outstanding shares report.
2. Corporate Accounting - Responsible for recording monthly journal entries and account reconciliations for certain balance sheet accounts.
3. Debt & Interest - Work with treasury on monthly interest expense analysis and assist with monthly interest expense forecasting and planning.
4. Pension and 401K - process invoice and monitor account activity.
5. Special Projects - Serve as a resource for special projects or other management requests, which arise.
6. External Reporting - Assist in the preparation of schedules to be used in various governmental filings.

Scope of the job:
Calculates the Sears Holding shares outstanding. Prepares monthly journal entries, account reconciliations and account analysis related to corporate activities. Works closely with various headquarters departments. Position assists with various regulatory reporting requirements.

Requirements:
Position requires strong analytical, organization and PC skills as well as good interpersonal skills. A customer service focus is necessary. Knowledge of accounting systems, Excel and Essbase are all pluses.
