FINANCIAL ANALYST


Baltimore, MD


This is a senior level position focusing on analysis, forecasts and strategy development. Prior management experience preferred.?

Seeking individual with senior level experience performing financial analysis in an IT environment.

Analyze and understand the root causes of the business unit'unit's financial results and provide concrete suggestions for improvement.

Responsible for overseeing preparation of annual budgets including negotiating agreement on specifics of the budget with various segments of the BU and external organizations.

Play key role in?development and/or execution of the department'department's strategy and policy.

Will supervise preparation of BU financial forecasts including identifying/quantifying risks and opportunities and probabilities of each.

. Participate in the identification and resolution of group projects and issues.

Ability to identify and escalate financial and business concerns to management.

Responsible for understanding the relevant industry and the position in the market.

Maintain and understand the vital statistics of the business unit.

Bachelor's degree in related field from a four-year college or university.? MBA or CPA preferred.8-10 (Eight to ten) years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.Strong accounting, tax or finance background with practical business ability or experience. Could be program specialist or manager with financial aptitude adn experience in financial analysis as pertains to technology.Prior??experience establishing financial controls, establishing financial strategies to build earned vallue analysis (EVA)in an IT environment or department Proven experience?with a range of financial analyses and modeling including discounted cash flow, lease versus buy, cost/benefit, valuation and sensitivity analysis. Experience analyzing monthly financial results and performing in-depth financial analysis for IT departmentExperience establishing financial controls and establishing financial strategies to build earned value analysis (EVA). Experience working with Management to set and achieve goals and assist in development and input of assumptions for forecasts and budgets. Ability to make recommendations including expense controls, asset management, and product management specifit to technology.Excellent written and oral communication skills, detail oriented, proficient with PCs for analysis and modeling, creative thinking, economic, and analytical skills.Active participation in cross-functional teams, and ?interaction with both internal and external finance teams. Provide support and business partnering with operations and other support teams. Ability to draw conclusions from financial analysis and suggest changes. Work closely with management and team members to prioritize and give status updates. Must have proficiency with various software applications programs including Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Access, and Excel.
