Financial Analyst - Print & Document Services

The Print and Document Analyst’s function is to assist the PDS Finance Manager, and where appropriate, lead the financial reporting of the operations function within the OfficeMax Print and Document Services division.  This includes the trending of operations expenses, future period expense forecasting, statistical studies of the operations area expenses versus production levels, and ad hoc business analysis as required. Position Responsibilities
Conduct ongoing and special studies, as well as ad hoc analysis, of PDS operations expenses at the division, territory, district, and product level.
Assist the PDS Finance Manager in the analysis of the operating expenses, identifying potential changes and improvements to drive cost efficiencies to support business plans and OfficeMax objectives.
Monitor expenses throughout the PDS division and processes and necessary expense accruals or cost adjustments to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Through ongoing dialogue with appropriate internal departments and staff members, identify process and systems improvements to support the ongoing improvements to the expense reporting process, where appropriate.
Accurately report expenses and analysis of PDS operations and must have a demonstrated ability to develop strong working relationships within operations organizations, corporate accounting, and other departments where appropriate. 
Assist the PDS Finance Manager with ad hoc and statistical analysis as requested by various managers throughout the PDS organization.

Other duties, responsibilities and qualifications may be required and/or assigned as necessary. Quantitative DimensionsResponsible for the accuracy of the expense reporting and analysis of PDS operations and must have a demonstrated ability to develop strong working relationships within operations organizations, corporate accounting, and other departments where appropriate.  Assist the PDS Finance Manager with ad hoc and statistical analysis of the operations of close to 900 stores with an expense budget of close to $90M, and as requested by various managers throughout the PDS organization.


Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related area or equivalent experience.
Strong financial analysis skills focused on sales and sales compensation plans.
Proficiency in a variety of computer programs/applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access and other database programs.
Minimum of 1 to 2 years experience preparing financial reports and forecasts
Experience in a retail environment preferred
